On the evening of February 20, the Beijing Winter Olympics have end successfully! This 16-day Olympic event has made many people unfamiliar to familiar with the Winter Olympics such as skiing, skating, snowmobiling, curling, etc. Those athletes who challenged the limit again and again made us feel the extreme charm of ice and snow sports. Outside the arena, whether the Bing Dwen Dwen, or "genius girl" Gu Ailing, all of them have caused waves of discussions.

There are still many things that are not known to the public in these Winter Olympics anecdotes. Today, we will reveal the secrets behind the Big Air Shougang that shined during the Winter Olympics.

The Big Air Shougang is located in Beijing Shijingshan Industrial Park. It is also known as the colorful "crystal shoes" and the elegant and agile "Xuefeitian". It has witnessed the freestyle skier Gu Ailing and the snowboarder Su Yiming have successively won the gold medal in Big Air project. The predecessor of the cool Big Air Shougang turned out to be a factory that had already ceased production. It was built on the original industrial site after the main steel process of Shougang Beijing Shijingshan Park was completely shut down. It was also the first competition for the reuse of industrial heritage in the history of the Winter Olympics Venue. In this renovation, Geomative co., Ltd was honored to participate in it.

After Beijing's successful bid for the Olympic Games, in order to improve the overall ecological environment of Beijing, at the end of 2010, the main steel production process of Shougang Beijing Shijingshan Park was completely shut down. The idle Shougang Beijing Park has not been demolished, but has been planned and renovated on the original industrial site based on protection and utilization, and has become the first theme cultural park in China featuring cultural relics of the steel industry. In this planning and reconstruction, Geomative made full use of its strengths and participated in the project in March 2019. The refined benzene block located in the original factory area of Shougang was carried out by the high-density electrical method (Electrical Resistivity Tomography) of geophysical exploration. Detect the distribution range and depth of organic pollutants in the area, and help Shougang.

According to the results of data acquisition and site survey, we use the Wenner-Schlumberger Array method for detection, and use the GD-20 high-density resistivity system independently developed by our company to select key areas in the site Sampling was carried out, and a total of 10 ERT survey lines and 1 background survey line were arranged in the survey area.

Finally, combined with the ERT results, the main pollution potential areas of the entire survey area were estimated and delineated, which provided the necessary basis for determining the later work plan.

From the steel plant to the ice and snow sports base, Shougang has completed the rebirth from "fire" to "ice". It is a model for the Olympic Movement to promote urban development, a model for the reuse of world industrial heritage and the revival of industrial areas. Applying geophysical methods to conduct pollution investigations on the pollution of abandoned industrial parks is also what Geomative has always been doing. In addition to the site pollution survey of Shougang Industrial Park, we have also undertaken many industrial park pollution investigation projects such as reservoir dam and environmental restoration monitoring, chemical plant oil pollution survey, industrial park decommissioned site survey, and gelling plant environmental survey, and participated in the compilation of "Groundwater" Guidelines for Pollution Geophysical Detection Technology (Trial) (Draft for Comments)", is committed to introducing geophysical exploration methods into environmental site pollution surveys, for a sustainable environment, for a better living environment!
