On November 20th, Dr. Liu Xingchang of Geomative was invited to share the special report of "Research on the Application of Geophysical Technology to Pollution Investigation of In-production Enterprises/Park" at the 2021 National Soil Remediation Industry Innovation and Development Conference. He  comunicated and discussed with domestic units of the application of geophysical techniques in the investigation of in-production plants and emergency response to illegal waste storage sites.

The 2021 National Soil Remediation Industry Innovation and Development Conference was hosted online by the Zhongguancun Zhongxin Soil Remediation Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. The conference focuses on and promotes new technologies, new achievements and new models in the soil remediation industry, focusing on "soil remediation industry under the background of carbon peak and neutrality, mining area pollution investigation and ecological restoration, and production enterprise water and soil hazard investigation and control in industral park" and other key industry topics, aiming to jointly create a bright future for our country's soil remediation industry.

During the meeting, Dr. Liu Xingchang explained the concept of geophysical exploration technology. He pointed out that the resistivity method is currently the most commonly used technology in shallow geophysical exploration, and listed the common causes of underground pollution in the process area of production factories. The key to the restoration of soil and groundwater contaminated sites lies in grasping the geological changes and flow field distribution. The restoration design needs to consider the original hydrogeological information and the concentration distribution of the contaminated area. He pointed out that the focus of the technical planning of exploration and investigation in the current stage is to select suitable underground environmental investigation technologies according to local conditions, and shared several application cases of geophysical methods in the Geomative.

More than 40 experts delivered keynote reports in this conference, and we also learned many new theories, new methods and new technologies in the soil remediation industry through this conference.
